Emily + Drew / Presidio Park San Diego Engagement

Emily + Drew, two fellow Ontarians in San Diego, were my first California session from my partner and I’s February road trip around SoCal. It happened serendipitously that my lovely friend Emily from high school recently moved to California with her husband when he got promoted (yes, that’s everyone’s dream) and they ever so kindly agreed to hang out in front of my camera. I was aiming to capture something that felt so clearly Californian, and one of my favourite parts about this state is the Spanish/Mexican-inspired architecture. After some heavy research I discovered Presidio Park and fell in love. The arches, the city views, the architecture, the flora and fauna, I can’t get over it! My main fear was, is this place going to overrun with other people doing engagement sessions? Surely it’s incredibly popular? Or touristy? And thankfully, no. Or at least not a random weekday in February. Perhaps its the fact that we were visiting during the slightly chilly off-season, but it was seamless. This place makes a fantastic outdoor wedding venue come the warmer months however, so CALL ME if that’s up your alley.

After the session, the four of us carried on to a brewery near our AirBnb in University Heights and honestly we could have stayed and chatted the night away, just us cool Canadians, if we didn’t have a fancy restaurant reso we needed to get to LOL. I’m so grateful for these two being my Cali guinea pigs and trusting my vision. A hall of fame session for sure <3
